Mother Earth is a leading New Zealand brand specialising in muesli bars and baked slices, with a growing footprint in Australia. Flemings and VP are established names in the New Zealand nutritional snack market, offering products such as snack bars, nuts, and snack mixes.

This acquisition supports The Arnott’s Group’s strategy to enhance its presence in the better-for-you snacking sector. The company plans to leverage the brands to innovate and expand its product offerings, backed by its extensive manufacturing and logistics experience. According to CEO George Zoghbi, this move aligns with consumer demand for healthier snack options, reinforcing Arnott’s commitment to diversifying beyond biscuits.

The acquired brands will join Arnott’s existing portfolio, which includes Freedom, Messy Monkey, and Sunsol. The group resumed manufacturing in New Zealand in 2022 after acquiring the local biscuit company 180degrees and its facility in 2021.

Arnott’s Group Managing Director for New Zealand, Mike Cullerne, highlighted the potential for these brands to reach new markets and consumers, emphasising the appeal of Kiwi-born brands internationally. The company also plans to maintain investment in local manufacturing, reflecting its long-term commitment to the New Zealand food sector.
