Tangle Teezer, founded in the UK in 2007, is known for its brightly coloured, ergonomic hairbrushes with patented plastic bristles. The innovative design reduces hair damage during detangling, which helped the brand carve out a unique niche in the market.

Private equity firm Mayfair Equity Partners acquired a stake in Tangle Teezer in July 2021 through a managed buyout. Since then, Tangle Teezer has doubled its earnings and grown annual net sales to over US$76 million ($119.3 million).

The US has become Tangle Teezer’s largest and fastest-growing market, contributing significantly to its expansion. Bic’s acquisition aligns with its strategy to diversify and strengthen its beauty tools portfolio while capitalising on Tangle Teezer’s international growth.

The deal reflects growing consumer demand for innovative beauty tools and positions Bic to leverage Tangle Teezer’s established global reputation.
