Personal products retailer Natura acquired by Mutares

Mutares SE & Co. KGaA has agreed to acquire Natura sp. z o.o. from Pelion S.A., marking its fifteenth acquisition in 2024. This purchase strengthens Mutares' Retail & Food segment and serves as a new platform investment. The transaction is set to finalise in Q4 2024.

Natura sp. z o.o., one of Poland’s top beauty retailers, operates 217 stores nationwide and an online shop under the "Natura" brand. With over 800 employees, the company’s product lines span categories such as hygiene, perfume, make-up, face and body care, and haircare, offering both international brands and Natura’s private labels. Natura reported revenues of EUR 100 million in FY 2023 and is headquartered in Łódź, Poland, with a central warehouse in the Masovian Voivodeship.

Pelion S.A.’s CEO, Jacek Szwajcowski, highlighted that the acquisition will enable Natura to grow and adapt to evolving consumer needs within Poland's dynamic cosmetics market. He also noted Pelion’s future focus on expanding within the pharmaceutical market in Poland and Europe.

Johannes Laumann, CIO of Mutares, stated that bringing Natura into the portfolio reinforces their Retail & Food segment and facilitates entry into the Polish retail space. Laumann emphasised Natura's established market presence and growth potential in the beauty sector. Mutares intends to collaborate with Natura’s management to align with consumer preferences and position the brand for future growth.
