Founded in 2005 by Jockum Hallin, Christopher Nying, and Richardos Klarén, Our Legacy is known for its unique, understated style that blends contemporary minimalism with creative design. The brand has gained significant popularity in recent years, particularly in menswear, as trends have shifted from streetwear to more sophisticated, timeless styles. In fiscal year 2023, the brand’s sales surged by 80% to €30 million.
Julie Bercovy, CEO of LVMH Luxury Ventures Advisors, described Our Legacy as embodying a “quiet cool” aesthetic, capturing a niche in the contemporary fashion market with its creative yet minimalistic approach. Richardos Klarén, CEO of Our Legacy, expressed confidence in LVMH’s support, emphasising that the partnership aligns with the brand's goal of establishing itself as a global designer name.
LVMH Luxury Ventures was established in 2017 to invest in high-growth potential luxury brands. Its portfolio includes brands like Gabriela Hearst and Aimé Leon Dore, focusing on nurturing promising labels rather than fully acquiring them. This strategy is part of a broader industry trend, with other investors such as Chanel’s Wertheimer family and L’Oréal’s Bettencourt Meyers family also acquiring stakes in emerging fashion brands like The Row.
Our Legacy’s main line, available through over 200 stockists and seven flagship stores, remains its primary revenue source. The brand’s commitment to high-quality menswear and minimalist design, alongside its strategic collaborations with labels like Stüssy and Emporio Armani, has allowed it to cultivate a dedicated fanbase while avoiding the volatility often seen with short-lived trends.
