S'Young Group, based in Changsha, is expanding its international beauty portfolio. In 2022, it acquired luxury French skincare brand EviDenS de Beauté and made a minority investment in Pier Augé.
Tengram Capital Partners acquired RéVive from Shiseido in 2017. At that time, RéVive's sales were around US$15 million ($22.3m). By 2022, sales had reportedly doubled to US$30 million ($44.7m).
Earlier this month, Tengram sold HRB Brands—which includes Alberto VO5, Zest, and Coast—to Italy's Sodalis Group for an estimated US$200 million ($297.9m).
The acquisition comes amid significant activity in the beauty sector. In August, private equity firm TSG took a majority stake in an influencer-founded brand. In September, L Catterton acquired Latvian body care brand Stenders. At the end of 2023, Shiseido acquired premium line Dr Dennis Gross.
S'Young Group is a beauty manufacturer and distributor that has worked with global brands like Kiko, Lumene, Dr Ci, Johnson's, Neutrogena, and Listerine. According to Statista, the Chinese beauty market is projected to reach US$16.51 billion in 2024.
