Home Focus operates 13 stores across Ireland, including six in Dublin, with a workforce of approximately 140 people. The business also runs an online platform, offering home delivery and a click-and-reserve service. Specialising in soft furnishings like curtains and bedding, it targets niche home categories.

Dunelm views this acquisition as an opportunity to expand into a new market with a homewares sector valued at more than £1 billion ($1.9 billion). The group plans to enhance the range of products available in Home Focus stores, aligning with the offerings in its smaller UK stores. Additionally, Dunelm will explore expanding Home Focus's online presence and evaluate potential for new store openings across Ireland.

The acquisition is not expected to significantly impact Dunelm’s financial performance. The group aims to leverage its existing infrastructure and supplier relationships to improve the customer offering at Home Focus.

Nick Wilkinson, CEO of Dunelm, highlighted Home Focus’s alignment with Dunelm’s values and expertise in home textiles. He expressed confidence in the acquisition’s ability to deliver increased product choice and value for customers, while creating opportunities for staff development and community investment.

Ian Donnelly, Managing Director of Home Focus, stated that Dunelm’s cultural fit and long-term growth strategy made it a suitable partner for advancing the business. He anticipates that Dunelm’s experience in multi-channel retail will provide enhanced opportunities for both employees and customers.
