Eyewear retailer Eyemart Express acquired by VSP Vision

VSP Vision has announced a definitive agreement to acquire Eyemart Express from FFL Partners and Leonard Green & Partners. Eyemart Express operates nearly 250 stores across 42 states. This acquisition is a strategic investment to expand VSP Vision’s network and serve its 85 million members.

VSP Vision President and CEO Michael Guyette highlighted the alignment of values between the two companies, both of which were founded by doctors. He noted that this acquisition presents an opportunity to provide affordable, high-quality eye care and eyewear to a broader range of patients, including rural and underserved communities.

Eyemart Express CEO Mike Nuzzo echoed the sentiment, stating that joining VSP Vision will enhance access to fast eyewear delivery and optometry care for more patients. He expressed excitement about the partnership’s potential to improve vision care for a wider audience.

The acquisition will be finalised once regulatory approvals are secured.

Eyemart Express, founded in 1990, is known for its strong connections with local optometrists and on-site labs, allowing them to deliver most eyewear within an hour. The company operates under multiple brands, including Vision 4 Less, Visionmart Express, and Eyewear Express.
